Balls for Brains

This recipe contains foods that are high in the most important nutrients for brain development and function.
As the brain is a neural organ, nutrients that support nerve firing is crucial. These have been considered in the ingredients in this recipe and include:
Magnesium
Calcium
Phosphatidyl serine
Choline
EPA/DHA (Omega 3)
Protein
B Vitamins
Fibre

For extra brain health support, these foods should also be considered:
Salmon
Egg Yolk
Broccoli (including broccoli powder which can be added to your recipe above
Strawberries
Sardines
Mackerel
And of course – good old water! Your brain is a thirsty organ!

Serves 12
Prep Time 20 mins

Ingredients

1/2 cup cooked green peas
1/2 navy beans cooked, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup coconut butter
2 tblsp cocoa/cacao powder
1 banana
1 tblsp chia or hemp seeds – or both
1/2 cup LSA (linseed.almond, sunflower seed
1/2 cup dates (optional)
1/4 cup lecithin granules
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup Eagle Whole Life powder *contact us
for this nutrient packed mind powder
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp cinnamon

Method

  1. Blend all ingredients till combined well.
  2. Add small amounts of water if consistency is too dry
  3. Can add favourite protein powder (I recommend a collagen blend)
  4. Roll into balls approx 2 cm round and refrigerate
  5. Can roll into desiccated coconut or almond meal if desired

 

About the Author

Nicky Wood is a qualified and experienced Naturopath, Homeopath,
Clinical EFT Practitioner and speaker, with over 30 years of clinical
experience.

Graduated in 1995 on the Gold Coast, Nicky worked in lead facilitation
and Naturopathic roles for the then Camp Eden Health Retreat and
The Cape Retreat, whilst launching her Naturopathic clinic in
Paddington, QLD.

Following invitation to facilitate and operate the opening of the
Mandara Spa’s Magellan Sutera Hotel Spa in Malaysia and the Marriott
Aruba Ocean Club in the Caribbean, Nicky was then selected to lead
the development of global hotel chain, Hyatt International’s Spa
Standards. Nicky led on the opening teams of a number of Hyatt
flagship hotel openings in Japan and Brazil before returning to the
Gold Coast.

Currently Nicky runs a busy private boutique clinic from her Tweed
Heads home, and is a sought after speaker in a number of community
and corporate locations in Australia.

Nicky also offers Telehealth appointments to her international patients
and remote Australian clientele, and mentoring to Naturopathic
practitioners who are seeking solutions to providing five star service and
systems to their own patients.
