Lis Conlon

Herbalist, Iridologist, Educator, Postgraduate Mentor

Lis Conlon is an ATMS Fellow, Ambassador, and Accredited Herbalist-Iridologist based in Sydney, Australia. In her family practice, she has been assisting clients with their health for 33 years, treating three to four generations within some families. Many of her clients fondly refer to her as “The Family Herbalist.”

In clinical practice, Lis combines traditional wisdom with evidence-based approaches. She is deeply committed to providing compassionate, individualized care, focusing on addressing the root causes of health issues rather than just alleviating symptoms. She has supported clients through various life stages, including childhood illnesses, puberty, preconception care, pregnancy, postnatal care, menopause, andropause, and aged care. Additionally, she has provided herbal medicine support for the many stress-related health challenges that can arise in both children and adults.

Lis is also an award-winning, engaging, and versatile educator with a keen interest in adult learning styles and tailored teaching techniques. Over the past 25 years, she has taught thousands of emerging practitioners at leading Australian colleges and supervised student clinics. She is passionate about fostering warm, inclusive learning environments where students feel nurtured and empowered. In 2024, she was the recipient of the ATMS Lecturer of the Year Award.

Beyond teaching, Lis has played a key role in curriculum development, maintaining a commitment to excellence, relevance, and evidence-based content. Her past academic leadership positions include Board of Education Adviser, Trainer Coordinator, and Head of Department for Herbal Medicine and Naturopathy. In these roles, she embraced a collaborative approach, ensuring that both colleagues and students felt seen, heard, and valued.

Lis is dedicated to supporting and mentoring new practitioners in the natural therapy profession. As a postgraduate mentor and clinical supervisor for herbal medicine and naturopathy graduates, she believes this guidance is essential for building confidence and momentum in the early years of practice.

Her passion for education extends beyond formal classroom settings. She is a frequent presenter and facilitator at community events, generously donating her time to share her knowledge of herbal medicine, plant essences, iridology, and plant consciousness with the general public.
